Instructions

  • Combine the bread flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.

  • Knead the dough for 10 minutes on a floured surface, or until smooth and elastic.
  • Allow the dough to rest for 10 minutes, covered.
  • Divide the dough into six equal pieces and roll into balls.
  • Make a hole in the centre of each ball and stretch it into the shape of a bagel.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  • Cook each bagel for 1 minute on each side in a pot of boiling water.
  • Each bagel should be brushed with water and sprinkled with black sesame seeds.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Before serving, allow the bagels to cool.
