Homemade Poppy Seed Bagels Recipe

- Total Time: 50 minutes
Instructions
- Warm water and yeast should be combined in a large mixing bowl.
- Allow to sit for 5 minutes, or until frothy.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil.
- Mix thoroughly until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 10-15 minutes on a floured surface, or until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and set aside for 1 hour in a warm place.
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Form the dough into rounds by dividing it into 8-10 equal pieces.
- Make a hole in the centre of each round of dough and stretch it into a bagel shape.
- Add the bagels to a pot of boiling water.
- Cook for 2 minutes per side.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown, on top of the bagels.
- Allow to cool before serving after removing from the oven.
