These roasted peanut bagels are a tasty twist on the traditional bagel. The roasted peanuts add a crunchy texture and nutty flavor that complements the soft and chewy bagel perfectly.

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt.
  • Stir in the warm water and honey until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for 5 minutes before covering and resting it for 10 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  • Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and shape each into a ball.
  • Make a hole in the centre of each ball with your finger and stretch the hole to form a bagel shape.
  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the beaten egg and 2 tablespoons of water.
  • Brush each bagel with egg wash and sprinkle with chopped peanuts.
  • Bake the bagels for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
